Training Up Our Children As Disciples

In our contemporary society, we are very familiar with the idea of “outsourcing.” Unfortunately, many parents have “outsourced” their own children’s discipleship to para-church ministries and their church’s youth group, while the historically important catechesis (instruction in the faith) of our children has gone by the wayside. While these fantastic tools are much-needed in assisting us to train our children, the core responsibility of discipling them in the character and knowledge of Christ remains with us as parents. It should be, therefore, a parent’s greatest priority with regard to evangelism and discipleship to “Train up a child in the way that they should go…” (Proverbs 22:6). In this intensive 6-week course, we will be looking at both biblical truth and developmental research to equip parents with as many tools as possible to help them as they build up their children to be the next generation of passionate Jesus Followers.
